Beard Transplant

A beard transplant is a popular procedure designed to enhance the shape or fullness of your beard. This technique removes hair from the back of the head, and transplants them into your beard. There are two methods available to remove the hair: Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE), which removes individual hair follicles, and Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT), which takes a small strip of skin.

We use gentle numbing techniques ensure that you are comfortable throughout the procedure. When the area is numb, the grafts are then extracted using either the FUE or FUT method. Once the grafts have been harvested, they are expertly trimmed and prepared for implantation. To complete the process, we create precise micro-incisions in the beard area and then place the grafts.

Consultation

You'll attend a consultation in advance of your procedure. After listening carefully to your needs, your surgeon will collaborate with you to create a personalised treatment plan.

Procedure

During your procedure (typically 6-10 hours), our team will ensure that you're relaxed and comfortable. Afterwards, we'll take time to ensure that you're comfortable with the next steps.

Recovery

This short period focuses on ensuring that your skin fully heals. Our team will help you follow simple steps, check in regularly, and answer any questions.

Check-up

After 12 months, we'll invite you to attend a check-up at our clinic. Should you require ongoing support we will be happy to help.

Is a Beard Transplant for me?

  • Beard Type: Low density, irregularly shaped, or contains patches.

  • Level of comfort: Before your procedure, we will ensure that you are relaxed and comfortable. We will then carefully apply local anaesthetic to the target area to induce numbness.

  • Scaring: FUE leaves small microdot scars along the back of your head, which are typically not visible if your hair is worn above grade 1-2. Whereas, FUT usually leaves a small scar along the back of your head, which is typically not visible if your hair is worn above grade 3.

  • Recovery: Depending on whether you choose FUE or FUT, the back of the head will begin to improve after 3-5 days. Most other visible signs disappearing after 2-3 weeks.

  • Regrowth: You can expect initial hair regrowth after 6 months, with the final results visible between 12-18 months.
